Puddy Tat”
Born: 8/22/2009; Passed: 7/20/2024
Puddy Tat, the beloved house cat of his kitty parents Mary Lou and Michael, passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2024. He was one month shy of his 15th birthday. He passed away peacefully in the loving arms of his kitty mommy and daddy. He is survived by his doggie-sister of six years, Beatrice Louise.
Puddy was a rescue and came to his forever home on Saturday, November 30, 2013. He had been abandoned by his previous owners over two months prior at the Syracuse SPCA. He was a very loving, affectionate, caring, and protective kitty. He loved lounging and napping in his home, whether it be on his plush electric heating bed overlooking his deck and backyard, the top of furniture to view his front yard, or the various cat perches his kitty mommy had installed in strategic windows throughout his home. He was very fond of his cat treats and was never shy about escorting his parents to his treat table whenever possible. He also was ever present whenever the can opener was pulled out of the kitchen drawer, since he firmly believed that every can opened in the household was supposed to be a tuna can. While his favorite snack was tuna water, his favorite holiday was Thanksgiving. When he was younger and more agile, his favorite holiday pastime was to jump on the kitchen counter, stick his head into a turkey carcass and help himself to a snack. He was also known to drag a chuck of confiscated corned beef across the kitchen floor on occasion. He was always an indoor feline and did not like going outside. The one time he did escape outside years ago, he begged to come back inside—just so he could use his cat box and do his business. Puddy was also an efficient and effective mouse—and occasionally chipmunk—hunter, as he offered countless “gifts” over the years.
Puddy was very fond of coming into bed and waking his family up at the crack of dawn because he wanted to love on them—and to initiate his morning treat routine. He was very fond of his evening belly rubs in his daddy’s lap and he had many wonderful, long naps in bed or on the couch with his mommy. He even loved napping on the couch with his doggie-sister, as they were constant companions. When family members were sick and not feeling well, he was always on constant guard looking over and protecting them.
We will never forget this kind, sweet, and loving little boy. We all miss him so much already.
