Nellie Herrick

Our Nellie girl—the smile she greeted us with every time we came through the door—will be sorely missed. She brought us so much joy for just shy of 14 years, and we were incredibly lucky to have her in our lives.

She was full of life, love, and intelligence. She loved walks in the woods, car rides, searching for deer, looking for frogs in the crick, and she really loved her chicken tenders from Doug’s Fish Fry. Most of all, she loved being with her family—and her family loved her right back.

She was my shotgun rider, my ride-or-die, my best friend. Though she’s no longer by our side, I know she’ll walk with us in spirit. Until we’re together again, my pretty girl. Above all, I will treasure and miss your companionship, you were my shadow and I’ll love you and miss you always.
