Milltrude “Millie” Goodman, a beloved chocolate Labrador with a heart as big as her paw prints, passed away on February 28, 2026, leaving behind a trail of love, laughter, and a few mysteriously missing dog toys.
Millie was the kind of dog who made every season better, but snow was her absolute favorite. The moment the first flakes fell, she transformed into a bounding, joyful blur of chocolate fur, leaping and rolling as if winter had been created just for her. When she wasn’t conquering snowbanks, she could be found happily accepting pizza crust offerings, delicately enjoying blueberries, or proudly carrying a tennis ball in hopes that someone, anyone, might play fetch.
A well-known and self-appointed ambassador of Johnson Road, Millie took her patrol duties very seriously. She wandered from yard to yard to visit her many friends, always ready for a scratch behind the ears, and occasionally leaving with a dog toy that may or may not have belonged to her.
Millie was a devoted sister to her human brothers, Parker and Grayson, watching over them with quiet loyalty and steady companionship. Whether they were playing outside or simply sitting together, she was happiest when her boys were nearby. She “tolerated” her sister-pup, Josie, with the long-suffering patience only an older dog can master.
She adored her loving father, Thomas, wherever he went, she was faithfully right there beside him, his shadow and constant companion. And she loved her mama, Gabrielle, with the gentle, steady devotion that only a Lab can give.
She also cherished all her dad’s friends who stopped by, greeting each one like family and ensuring no visitor ever left without a proper welcome.
Millie’s life was filled with simple joys, unconditional love, and the kind of loyalty that only a dog can give. Though her paw prints no longer echo down Johnson Road, her spirit will forever linger in snowy yards, backyard games of fetch, and every shared slice of pizza.
She will be forever missed. And somewhere beyond the rainbow bridge, there is surely fresh snow, endless games of fetch, blueberries in abundance, and an entire basket of toys that are finally all hers.
