Hoffman Castiglia
October 7, 2007 - February 18, 2021
Our beloved, Hoffman, crossed the Rainbow Bridge on February 18, 2021, welcomed by his sister, Heidi.
There aren’t words to describe how very special he was to our family. Given to his human Dad as a surprise Christmas gift 13 years ago; every day since then he has been a gift to us all. A very unique, red wire haired miniature dachshund, his Dad named him Hoffman after the infamous Syracuse “Hoffman hot dogs”. His name suited him perfectly. He was full of personality, unconditional love, a gentle and sweet demeanor, playfulness and spunk. We often thought he was a boy in a dog’s body.
His biggest loves we’re playing laser with his Dad; every night at about 6:45-7:00 pm, when he would stand at the cabinet and wait for the laser to be taken out of the drawer, running around in the backyard hunting with his sister, Sophie, going for rides in the car, laying in his dog bed in front of the fire, stealing our shoes/socks, which led into playtime, Mom’s sugar cookies and sleeping with his humans every night in their bed (snuggled under the covers, of course).
Our hearts ache that you were suffering and that we’ve lost you here on Earth. But, we will see you later in heaven. Rest In Peace, sweet Hoffman.
