Dyna came into my life when I was a newly teenage girl. She was the victim of abuse and neglect. She survived the horrible things done to her and came out with the biggest, brightest smile you could imagine. I came across her by luck. It was an ad in the classified section of the newspaper. I called and the lady on the other line sounded excited that someone was still interested in meeting her after telling us that she was a pit mix that had survived serious abuse. When they came for our meet and Dyna jumped out of the car our bond was instant. I knew she was my bestfriend in that moment.
Dyna stood by me through it all. The good and the bad, the rough and the easy going hills. She helped raise our other two dogs, Bailey and Stitch. She taught them to protect and guard our family, especially our children. She made sure no one was too rough with myself or the kids no matter who it was.
Dyna loved the tiny pink monkeys from the dollar store and her worst habit was chewing bottles. She would sleep on top of me or curled up within the backs of my knees every night until I had my first child; she then remained vigilant between myself and the baby. It stayed this way until her last day. Dyna loved her family so much and there was nothing she wouldn't do for them.
Dyna loved the sunshine. She would sit out in the sun for hours of the day if you let her and was always a pain trying to get her back in, making her body go limp if she wasn't ready to come in. Her absolute favorite thing to do was go riding in the car with the music on, sitting right beside me in the passenger seat as we were driving to wherever our destination was.
In her last days, cancer was rapidly deteriorating her body, but not her spirit. She would still try to run and jump up on you, give tons of kisses and be the lap dog she had always thought she was.
Dyna will always be my best friend, missed every day.
Dyna was predeceased by her first best friend, Mickey (Lhasa apso) and Goldie (Domestic short haired cat). Surviving her are her animal family: Bailey (best friend- German shepherd/husky), Stitch (Dalmatian), Boots (Domestic short haired cat) and Spookly (Domestic long haired cat). She is also survived by her caretaker of 15 of her beautiful 16 years, Monica, her husband Brian and their three children.
If you feel so inclined, donations in Dyna's honor can be made to your local animal rescue of your choosing. A charity will be set up in Dyna's name in the near future for families facing unfortunate medical circumstances with their pet.
We love you babygirl. You are at peace now.
